Over the years, Tessa has been generous with her time, returning to Flinders for a number of events and workshops to help inspire the next generation of young athletes. She has plenty of positive and helpful advice to share from her career as an athlete, including as a Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist, 2012 Olympian and three-time Commonwealth Games athlete.听
At age 18, Tessa made the semi-final of the 200m breaststroke at the London 2012 Olympic Games where she finished eighth. Her achievement was especially impressive as she had overcome a serious knee injury and a bout of Ross River fever that saw her nearly quit the sport.
Tessa made her international swimming debut at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India - the year she graduated from Flinders - where she produced a fantastic swim to finish with the silver medal behind Olympic听champion, Australian swimmer Leisel Jones.
